!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! with highest resale, and The top 5 vehicles are predictably predictable. No wonder Tacoma and Wrangler prices are so insane! They know what they have.
Trucks and SUVs dominate the top of the resale value charts, and for the first time, no cars are represented in the top 10 slots of this list. While the average new vehicle will be worth about 39 percent of its original sticker price after 60 months, these 10 vehicles will return an average of about 55 percent to their owners’ pockets. For a $35,000 vehicle that works out to a meaningful difference of about $5,700 over a 5-year buy-own-sell ownership cycle. That’s why choosing a car with good resale value can often save you more money in the long run than chasing big rebates and other incentives. Someday I’ll buy my first new car. Somehow I doubt resale value will factor into it: usually I drive my cars until they die.

My approach is - Life’s too short to drive the same car for decades . I start getting the itch at the 4 year mark and by year 5 I am constantly looking back and forth at Autotrader and my bank account every single day .

I’m 44, my number of owned cars is some where around 50...life’ s too short. The 2 longest tenured are my Astro (9 years) and the Transit Connect (4 years) Both used for work. 3 I wish i still had and could go to grave with , 86 BMW M535i, 82 Dodge Rampage and 00 323iT. I’d like to have all 3 of those.

Given the general discounts on the GMC that seems to be an excellent value if it holds its value that well

I’m number 5, I’m number 5!
In CO, that number be low for the 36 mo residual for Tacomas. My trade in was about 85% residual after 40 months, although that’s off the negotiated purchase price and not MSRP. MSRP puts it at about 78%.

Yup!
Made no sense at all for me to buy a used Tacoma. Honestly, I feel like I could sell mine right now for less than I paid for it. It’s crazy.
